July 26 - Lac Bay
5,224 km
Lac Bay, Bonaire, Caribbean Netherlands
2018 GA Phantom 7.1, 2015 iSonic 107, Drake 38 Wind:15 - 18 knots
Decently powered at the beginning. Underpowered by 1700.
Was Bryan Leidel's windsurfing support for his first couple of runs to the mangroves. He is quickly improving.
I'm trying to flip the sail sooner on jibess. Have to really concentrate on leaning forward or I stall the board.

July 24 - Lac Bay
Lac Bay, Bonaire, Caribbean Netherlands
2018 GA Phantom 7.8, 2017 iSonic 127 Ultra, Drake 44
Good day. Stable wind and just right for the gear selection. Good conditions for the gear - water pretty smooth, made for enjoyable runs.
Jeff Ward suggested that my jibes looked good (stance, etc). I just need to flip the sail a lot earlier.
Met up with Bryan Leidel. Met him on 7/22. Just learning to sail. Very excited about windsurfing. Just bought the JP85 from Taty.

5,181 km
Lac Bay, Bonaire, Caribbean Netherlands
2018 GA Phantom 7.8, 2017 iSonic 127 Ultra, Drake Carbon Race 44, Wind 13 G 15 knots
Was a slow start - launched at 1400 but not enough wind to stay planing. Relaunched at 1400 with barely enough wind (assisted by pumping). As the wind increased getting on a plane was easier. Opened up the back foot straps as I was struggling to get into the back straps. By the end of the session I was getting better but was still more difficult than on the iSonic 107.

Good session. Close to overpowered early but still fun. Well lit up for me on the runs, both north and south. Slowly, very slowly, the jibe timing is coming together.

Lac Bay, Bonaire, Caribbean Netherlands
2018 GA Phantom 7.1, 2015 iSonic 107, MFC KP-360
Wind: 13 - 16 knots
Under-powered for most of the runs. Should have been on the 7.8. Did a lot of slogging, especially close to 1800 when the wind was definitely backing off. That said, was still a good session for the first time back on the water in a month.
Shoulder wound from having a small growth removed is essentially healed now.

2018 GA Phantom 7.1, 2015 iSonic 107, MFC KP-360
Decently powered. Good day. Sailed with Alexander van Ray. Still a lot of work to be done on the jibes. Have to fight the urge to flip the sail first when doing starboard tack jibes. Need to concentrate on bending ankles, knees and keeping back upright and looking at the clew of the sail while carving. Then doing a slow foot change seems to work but I need to do the foot change/flip before the board speed falls too much. Thursday, May 28, 2020

Worked on jibes. They are coming but still not rotating feet and flipping the sail soon enough for planing jibes.
