Waterfront Park, Hood River
28-33 gusting to 40 Chopper M (4.3) FW 77
The Gorge Wind God decided to humble me today. I attempted to sail the Waterfront Park in Hood River. When I arrived guys were returning to shore saying the wind was dropping - they were mostly on 3.5 sq m sails. They suggested 4.5 should be good. By the time I finished rigging it looked like the wind had picked up again but I thought those famous last words of 'what the heck, I'm already rigged up'. 40 minutes later I washed into the event site area as the wind was too strong to water-start – kept getting launched each time I tried.
