Dec 6 - Lac Bay

3982km
Lac Bay, Bonaire, Dutch Caribbean
Sailworks Retro 6.5, 1985 Hi-Tech Carbon Slalom 9', Wind: 17-20 knots   I launched around 1 PM, stopped about 4 PM
Today was 'Retro' day for me - both with the sail AND the board. After my short sail on Monday, I wasn't looking forward to getting bounced around so I took the easy out - go with a board half the width :) . Unfortunately, the wind backed off after I rigged so was underpowered most of the afternoon, which made it difficult to point upwind. Fortunately, got in a couple of good runs just before 4 PM. Felt nice to not be struggling to point or jibe, especially after earlier in the day when I just didn't have the board speed for decent jibes. Maybe I'm just destined to be a retro sailor - old, slow, comfortable and having fun :) .
Taty arrived a little after 4 PM to deliver most of the rest of my new-to-me equipment quiver (a 460 100% carbon GA mast, a 180-230 GA carbon boom, and the GA Vapor 7.9 sail. On Dec 16 I get the GA Vapor 6.4). In February I'll be getting a 2018 GA Vapor 5.6 to complete my quiver!! :) . Taty left the 30 inch harness lines on the boom - he is very determined to get me lower and away from the rig :) . I told him I had solved the bouncing around issue and pointed to the Hi-Tech - he chuckled...

Below are a couple of photos by Kuma of my retro gear...
